The Catholic University of America

 Welcome to DC Reads!

D.C. Reads is a university-based program that began as a response to Clinton's 1997 America Reads Challenge. The Catholic University of America is one of seven universities in the DC Metro area that manages a program of this kind. We work in partnership with nine different local elementary schools and non-profit institutions to increase elementary student’s reading and math skills. Undergraduate and graduate students alike are encouraged to apply at the beginning of every semester! We accept work study students and volunteers. No previous tutoring experience is necessary.

If you feel that you are good with children and can be their friend and their tutor, and hope to gain a feeling of accomplishment for your service, then DC Reads is the program for you!"
